This Listing Policy sets out the rules for adding and maintaining a business listing on OpenList247. It applies to anyone who submits, claims, or manages a listing, and works alongside our Terms and Conditions.
1. Who Can List a Business
Any registered user may submit a business listing. By doing so, you confirm that you are the owner of the business, an employee or representative authorized to manage its listing, or that you are adding publicly available information about a business in good faith (for example, a business that has not yet claimed its own listing).
2. Accuracy of Information
All information submitted — including the business name, category, address, contact details, opening hours, services, products, and pricing — must be accurate and kept up to date. Do not list a business at an address it does not operate from, under a name it does not trade as, or with contact details that do not reach it.
3. Ownership and Claiming
If a listing already exists for your business (for example, added by an administrator or another user), you can claim it through our claim process. Claims are reviewed before ownership of a listing is transferred, and we may request evidence of your connection to the business, such as a CAC registration number or other proof of authority.
4. Prohibited Listings
We do not allow listings for: illegal goods or services under Nigerian law; adult content or services; multi-level marketing, pyramid, or Ponzi schemes; businesses whose primary purpose is deceptive or fraudulent; duplicate listings for the same business; or listings created to impersonate or disparage another business. We reserve the right to remove any listing that we determine, at our sole discretion, falls into these categories.
5. Photos and Media
Photos and other media uploaded to a listing must be your own, licensed for your use, or otherwise permitted to be shared. Images must accurately represent the business — do not use stock photos to depict premises, products, or staff as if they were real when they are not. Media containing graphic, obscene, or offensive content is not permitted.
6. Verification
Businesses may submit a CAC (Corporate Affairs Commission) registration number and other supporting details for verification. A "Verified" badge indicates that the information submitted has been reviewed by our team and found consistent with the supporting evidence provided; it does not constitute an endorsement of the business's products, services, or conduct.
7. Moderation and Approval
New listings and significant edits are reviewed by our team before or shortly after they go live. We may approve, reject, edit for accuracy or policy compliance, or request changes to any listing. Approval does not guarantee that a listing will remain published indefinitely if it is later found to violate this policy.
8. Featured and Sponsored Placement
Listings may appear in featured positions or alongside sponsored advertising as part of a paid promotion. Where this occurs, it is clearly marked (for example, with a "Featured" badge or an "Ad" disclosure) so visitors can distinguish paid placement from organic ranking.
9. Editing and Updating Your Listing
Business owners are responsible for keeping their listing current, including hours, contact information, and offerings. Significant changes to a listing may be subject to re-review before they appear publicly.
10. Suspension and Removal
We may suspend or remove a listing, with or without notice, if it violates this policy, is the subject of credible reports of fraud or abuse, belongs to a business that has closed or can no longer be verified, or if its owner violates our Terms and Conditions.
11. Reporting a Listing
If you believe a listing is inaccurate, fraudulent, or violates this policy, you can report it using the report option on the listing page, or by contacting us directly. We review reports and take appropriate action, which may include editing, suspending, or removing the listing.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Listing Policy from time to time. Continued use of the listing features on the Platform after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
