OpenList247 Now Verifying Businesses Across All 36 States

One of the most requested features since launch has been business verification, and we're glad to share that it's now available to businesses across all 36 states and the FCT, closing a gap that limited it to a handful of major cities at launch.

Verification is our way of manually checking that a listed business is real and accurately represented — reviewing details like documentation and ownership before awarding a verified badge. For customers, this badge is a quick signal that OpenList247 has done some of the trust-checking work for them before they ever make contact.

This matters especially outside the major commercial hubs, where customers have historically had fewer reliable ways to check whether a business is legitimate before showing up or sending money. A verified badge on a business in a smaller town carries exactly the same weight as one in Lagos or Abuja.

For business owners, getting verified is straightforward: submit your documents through your business dashboard, and our team will review them, regardless of which state you're operating in. Verified businesses tend to see more engagement, since customers are naturally more confident reaching out to a business that's been checked.

We've also expanded our review team to keep verification turnaround times reasonable even with nationwide coverage — most submissions are reviewed within a few business days, and you'll be notified directly once a decision is made.

Verification doesn't replace reviews — the two work together. A verified badge tells a customer the business is real; reviews tell them what it's actually like to deal with. Together, they give customers a far more complete picture than either signal on its own.
